Our family-operated business was founded by Robert Shute, Sr. who resided in rural southeast Alabama before the turn of the century. One of the earliest businessmen in the horse and buggy era, he was a grocer. In 1929, a pecan market was established to buy and sell pecans during fall harvest season.
